PackPilot is designed as a highly reliable, offline-first application. This Local Storage Policy details how we store, retrieve, and manage your checklist data on your device, ensuring maximum privacy and offline availability.
1. Why We Use Local Storage
To ensure that you can access your travel packing lists at airports, high-altitude hiking zones, or international boundaries where roaming coverage is unavailable, PackPilot saves all active records directly to your device sandbox. We do not require active network connections for core checklist functionalities.
2. What Data is Saved Locally
The following elements are stored within your device's local sandboxed memory:
- Checklist Contents: Item names, quantities, priorities, and packing ticks.
- Trip Metadata: Destination names, dates, activity configurations, and notes.
- Bag Organization: Distribution maps showing which items are packed in checked bags, carry-ons, or personal items.
- Sticker Progress: Gamified travel stickers and badges unlocked by completing checklist goals.
3. Storage Mechanisms Used
For Android systems, data is persisted locally using a secure SQLite relational database wrapper. No third-party applications can access these files due to Android's built-in application sandboxing controls.
4. Clearing & Deleting Local Data
Because the app prioritizes device privacy, **all local checklists exist solely on your device until you enable Cloud Sync.**
Please note: If you uninstall PackPilot or clear your application's data via Android settings, all locally stored checklists and sticker rewards will be permanently deleted unless you have linked an account to back them up securely on our cloud backend.
